Congratulations for making it to Day 52 of the Learn Spanish Challenge! There is a lot of review built into the Visual Link Spanish Level 1 course, and the reason for that is reinforcing what you have learned so that you will have success when you are tested. You are going to make mistakes, and it’s important that you see your mistakes as opportunities to improve.

In today’s video, Dave guides you through Unit 2 of the Becoming Acquainted Section. He also invites you to follow @vislinkspanish on Twitter. I do a lot of the tweeting for the company, and I am usually quick in my response to any interactions on Twitter. In school, you may have passed a test through cramming; however, the same will not work for learning Spanish. When you cram, you normally can’t remember what you crammed after the test. Consistency will help you retain what you are learning.

Sometimes you just need to keep working hard and things work themselves out. Sometimes you just need to let it all out and have a good cry. And sometimes you just need to escape to the sea and relax. I hope you are making time for all 3!

In today’s video, Dave will guide you through the rest of Unit 8 Additional Practice of the Locations section. He also reminds you to take advantage of any opportunity that you have to speak with a native Spanish speaker. It’s important for you to be able to see if a native can understand you, and it’s important that you try to understand them. Also, I would suggest that you do your best to imitate their pronunciation when you speak Spanish.

In today’s video, Dave will guide you through Unit 6 of the Locations section. He also encourages and reminds you to begin thinking in Spanish. This will really help you because your mind won’t be taking time to translate. Words and phrases will formulate easier and faster. When you read something in Spanish, you will read and comprehend quicker, because you won’t be translating each word. Try to avoid translating things word for word. It is better for you to understand the gist of what is being said and continue to learn and grow from there.
