Day 3 of the Learn Spanish Challenge! Watch the video!
“The mind is not a vessel to be filled but a fire to be kindled.” -Plutarch

I really like this quote because it is very applicable to language learning. In the Learn Spanish Challenge we are not trying to fill the vessel, we are trying to feed the fire, which is the mind. This is not a cramming session that will soon be forgotten. We are here to help you become fluent in basic conversational Spanish and stay motivated so that you can accomplish the task in a reasonable amount of time. Keep the fire burning, keep coming back for more each day.
These videos are being posted on the blog under the category “Learn Spanish Challenge”. You can also watch the videos on our YouTube channel, and I post them daily on Facebook and Twitter as well.
Remember to kindle the fire instead of filling the vessel.

Hola! I’ve been following along with your Learn Spanish Challenge and really enjoying it. I have an earlier version of the software that doesn’t have the framework for learning and it also doesn’t have some of the words like “to play”. I’m wondering if there is an update I can download or buy or if I need to buy the program all over again to get this version. I couldn’t find anywhere to update the software on the version I have.
I really do like the interaction with the version you are using here.
Thanks!
Sorry for the delay Sammie. You will be receiving an email from customer service and they will take care of you.
Thanks for the info on the number of repetitions most folks need to get new learning into long term memory. I am “leading” a small group of learners who are senior citizens. Most of the learning they have done for the last 50+ years has been experiential. They are not seasoned computer users, and though I tried “training” them to use the VL software, your video in the Learn Spanish Challenge: Day 1, was very much needed.
Thank you for your commitment to doing these level 1 challenge videos. I like the tips that start the lesson. Could you scattered other tips through the video, such as ones on pronunciation, usage, quirks or other things that a beginner should be aware of? BTW, my kids (9 year old twins) are learning along too and love the games. This is such a great program for kids as well as adults. Gracias
Jake/Dave… will this continue through Level 2 and 3? Even though I am on Level 3, I am doing the daily program and it is a good review.
Sorry! I see you answered the other day… must have missed that. I’m glad to hear that you are going to continue through all the levels.
I am so jealous. I bought the older version just a couple of months before this newer one was offered. From what I’ve seen so far I think I would have preferred it. I’ve learned a lot and I’ve noticed how the program is organized a little differently. I like that you have both male and female voices too.
Sorry for the delay, Donna. You will be receiving an email from customer service and they will take care of you.
